The label's location can vary depending on the type and brand of your oven or range, but here are some common places to look:
- Inside the Oven Door: Open the oven door and check on the door frame or the edges where the door meets the oven. The label is often placed here to avoid exposure to heat.
- On the Oven Frame: With the door open, look on the frame of the oven itself, particularly on the sides. This could be where the door would hide the label when closed.
- Behind the Drawer: If your oven or range has a bottom drawer for storage or a broiler, pull out the drawer and look for the label on the frame behind where the drawer slides in.
- Back of the Oven/Range: If it's safe and possible to do so, move the unit away from the wall to check the backside. This is more common for freestanding ranges.
- Under the Cooktop: For ranges, especially those with a lift-up cooktop, the label may be located underneath the cooktop. Ensure the cooktop is cool and lift gently according to the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid damage.
- On the Side Panels: Less commonly, but still possible, is finding the label on the outer sides of the oven or range, usually towards the front or back.
